Know us

Asma Syeda

"Education is the key to success in life, and teachers/ parents make a lasting impact in the lives of

their students/children .”

I have a deeply-seated belief that all of our children need quality education and because of this, I would like to see our parents and community become more involved with our School “Islamic academy of Delaware”.

As a member of PTO my main focus would be to increase parental and community involvement.

I believe that the parents of IAD are a vital resource. As a PTO member I will work with all parents to promote the well being of our children.

Being a Masters in engineering from Chicago, my love and enthusiasm for education has never gone. Now that I’m a parent of 4 kids seeing them grow in an environment of Islam with academics gives me a lot of satisfaction. I have seen in the past how the PTO works as I have been involved in a lot of bake sales in my previous Islamic school. My vision is to support our children with an emphasis on fun and enriching activities for our students and their families. I feel this is my way of “giving it back to school “in a small little way. Inshallah.

Jazakallah khair.

My vision is to support our children with an emphasis on fun and enriching activities for our students and their families. InshAllah.  Thank you for your time.

Jazakum Allahu Khairun.

Khalifah Abuasi

As a nominee for the IAD Parent-Teacher Organization, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.

My name is Khalifah Abuasi and I am a product of a well-established Muslim community in the United States. I am deeply committed to ensuring that all students at our school receive a fruitful experience and I believe that the PTO plays an essential role in this endeavor.

I have a background in both technical and leadership roles with a diverse set of skills such as strong communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and time management skills, which align with the objectives of the organization.

I am confident that I can use my experience to support the PTO's efforts to enhance the overall experience of our students. I am excited about the opportunity to work with other parents, teachers, and administrators to make a positive impact on our school community, and I would be honored to have your support.

Jazakum Allah Khairan,

Mehedi Aziz

My name is Mehedi Aziz and also nominated for this year's PTO election. I have three children, attending two children at this outstanding school (Islamic Academy of Delaware) and living near the school neighborhood.

Currently, work as Senior Software Engineer at JP Morgan and Chase, and I also worked before as a Pharmacist in Bangladesh. In addition, I was involved in different organization activities, including the Islamic Society of Delaware (ISD) and Muslim Ummah of North America (MUNA).

I was an ISD member past four years. It keeps me in the loop and offers me a place to make a difference in my kid's learning environment. I believe it takes the best Islamic school that is spirited and full of life! I have been impressed by the number of parents that volunteer and give their time to the school. Our parent council works hard to achieve great things for our students. If I get an opportunity, I want to work with IAD parents and teachers to support the school and its students through various initiatives. I want to collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to accomplish their mission.

Mustafa Kamal

I have 3 children attending IAD. I have a 5th grader, 3rd grader and 1st grader. My oldest has been attending IAD since Pre-K4. to keep this simple and short, I am interested in being part of the IAD PTO organization to help foster a more cooperative environment between the teachers and parents, improve on ways teachers and parents communicate beside ClassDojo and during the end of periods PT conference calls. Also, I am interested in working with other parents to find creative ways to help the students on their learning adventure especially in reading and math and non academic activities to encourage the students to be more active .

JZAK

Sawsen Ben Romdhane

My name is Sawsen mother of two IAD students 8th grader Houdhaifa and 3rd grader Koutayba. Both of my children have been in IAD since preschool and we have witnessed all the hard work staff and administrators have been performing. I am a former computer engineer amd currently working on my Masters in ESL (English as a second language).

I am passionate about education as I strongly believe in its power to change the future of generations to come.

I was elected to be the vice president of the PTO of IAD few years ago and I did enjoy the interaction with the parents and teachers. This year, I would love to be part of this organization and give back to the community.

JAK

Zeinab Baba

My name is Zeinab Baba and my children have been in IAD for the past five years. Currently I am employed as a professor of public health at West Chester University.

Over the past five years I have been involved in several functions at the school and volunteered for various activities including chaperoning field trips, staffing the book fair, judging the science fair, and assisting with teacher appreciation week.

I would like to be on the PTO Board because it will serve as an important avenue for communication between teachers, IAD admin, and parents. I am eager to hear ideas from parents on what could make the school the best it can be and work with IAD admin and teachers to implement their vision for the school. As a PTO we can work collaboratively to provide feedback, assistance, address concerns, and encouragement in all aspects related to the school with the end goal of continuing to provide the best education for our children.
